Murl "Skip" Coon, age 82, passed away at his home on Sunday, November 27, 2016. Skip was born in Corunna, Michigan on February 25, 1934 to George
and Pauline (Randall) Coon. He entered the Army in 1952, and married his sweetheart, Donna House, the same year, on August 23 in Detroit. He served
in Korea, and when he returned home, he met his son David for the first time.

Skip and Donna moved their family to Kewadin in the 70's and Skip started his own business, Skip's Garage, which he ran for 25 years until retirement. In his
earlier years, he loved bird hunting, never missing an opening day of pheasant season. Skip also loved to fi sh. Another activity he enjoyed with his family was
mushroom hunting in the spring, although he was often the only member of the family to spot the mushrooms. He also was extremely proud of his lawn, and plans to keep watch over it to ensure proper care is being taken. Skip loved his family and friends dearly, especially his grandchildren.

Skip is survived by his wife, Donna; sons David (Nancy) Coon and Terry (Debbie) Coon; daughter Patricia (Michael) Van Der Stelt; brother, George; sister
Lois; eight wonderful grandchildren and 12 wonderful great-grandchildren.

Skip is predeceased by his parents; brothers Geremy Coon, Albert Cotê; and sisters Edith Cotê and Ardith Leckrone.

A celebration of life is being planned for the spring. Arrangements have been entrusted to Covell Funeral Home, Elk Rapids.
